2012 Audi R8 GT

Sure, the base Audi R8 is a phenomenal car -- it was dubbed the winner of our 2008 Best Handling Car competition. But we knew there was more to come from Ingolstadt. First, Audi stuffed a V-10 under the hood, and now the German automaker has sharpened the car's edge even further with its new R8 GT.
While more of a track-ready R8 5.2 than an alternative to the raw Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the absolutely insane GT2 RS, the R8 GT is some 220 pounds lighter than a garden-variety R8 V-10, while the V-10's power is up a modest 35 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque to 560 and 398, respectively.

Outside, the GT stands apart from the R8 crowd via numerous carbon fiber aerodynamic bits that also provide additional downforce and high-speed stability. The front fascia is adorned with a double-lip splitter and a winglet on both sides. At rear, there's a large spoiler, diffuser, and a carbon-fiber bumper. The R8's distinctive side blades also get the carbon fiber treatment.

At the core of the interior changes are lightweight fiberglass-reinforced plastic-frame sport seats. Combined, they're a full 69.5 pounds lighter than the stock V-10 seats, accounting for a large chunk of the GT's total weight savings. Unfortunately, these won't be offered in U.S.-market GTs because of federal regulations. European-market GTs are also fitted with a four-point harness instead of traditional three-point belts. The cabin also features a rollcage, fire extinguisher, and copious carbon fiber trim.

We got to take the R8 GT for a spin though the Bavarian countryside and a stretch of unrestricted autobahn a couple of days before the 2010 Paris auto show. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, with grey skies and wet pavement being the order of the day. Because of the inclement elements, Audi subbed the standard high-performance summer rubber with performance all-seasons. Given the R8 GT's limited production run, Audi can hardly be blamed for wanting to keep its few demo vehicles rubber-side down.

Paris Motor Show Live 2010 A1 Audi 1.4 T S-Line, the color of gold

We will not have the S1 which will be later, we must satisfy with the little A1 1.4-liter TFSI 185 hp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine known for its health expressive cousins in VW, Seat and Skoda is entitled to a bonus of 5 bedrooms in the A1, requires prestige. The car is supplied with a controlled differential, S-Tronic box and puts forward a consumption of just 5.9 l/100km. It's already a performance. The 0-100 km / h achieved in 6.8 s and the v-max given to 229 km / h are others.
The A1 "pre-sport" is available in a basic version of the classic sad and younger (and rich) will be eager to come to personalize the mock queens small segment, Citroën and Mini DS3 in mind. For this, the line S-Line is ideal Audi has understood since the version on display was of course totally look S-Line. In his livery and gold Black Arks, the parallel with the Citroen DS3 Racing takes place immediately. Remains to be seen how much the price of this version can be higher than the DS3 Racing.

Audi E-Tron Quattro Spyder: Live Paris 2010

We have supplied the technical information for the e-Tron Spyder and the Quattro before but here are some additional pictures from the Paris Motor Show in Paris.
I love the most muscular American Quattro which resurrects a legendary model. The wink of the flat back to the original version of 1980 is also very pleasant.
For younger and refresh the memories of others, here is a brief history of the quattro. The Quattro as its name suggests is the first large series sports coupe AWD permanent. The first generation receives a 5-cylinder 2.1L 10 valves (WR), equipped with a turbocharger and an air exchanger that increases the power to 200hp (170hp instead of the version without heat exchanger fitted to the 200 Turbo ).
The Audi quattro is easily recognized by its flared fenders and bumpers specific that differentiate the Audi Coupe GT which it derives. 0-100km / h is in 7.1 seconds for a top speed of 222km / h

2011 Audi quattro concept: a tribute to an all-wheel legend

Is it just a reminiscence of the anno 1980 Audi quattro or already presented a preview of a small sports car with four rings? This question should provide many visitors to the Paris Motor Show (2 to 17 October 2010) at the sight of the Audi quattro concept study.
From the first look at the "Col de Turini and white" painted show car appeared on the memory of a legendary ancestor: the 306 hp strong and at the time of 200,000 Mark expensive Sport Quattro was a shortened quattro variant and provided the basis for the famous Rally cars with Walter Röhrl at the wheel. For the current study, a series of transport was reduced, because the base supplies the Audi RS5. Compared to the four-seat coupe, the rear overhang has been reduced by 20 centimeters, the result is a length of 4.28 meters. At the same time, the wheelbase was shortened by 15 inches and lowered the roof line about four inches.
The body of the Audi quattro concept is mainly made of aluminum, there are the hood and the trunk lid as well as other components made of carbon. The result suggests a weight of 1,300 kilograms to book, almost exactly the level of the 1984 Sport Quattro presented. Eye-catching design features are the strongly contoured C-pillar, 20-inch wheels and a large single-frame grille without chrome frame. All lighting units use LED technology, the rear lights remind their straight shape of the Audi 100 from 1976.
